Meet the Team: Judy Marston – Championing Charities, Health, and Human Connection

At IDS Media, our people are the heartbeat of everything we do. In this Meet the Team series, we’re shining a light on the individuals behind our partnerships, campaigns and solutions – the people who bring passion, knowledge, and a personal touch to every conversation.
First up: the vibrant, unstoppable Judy Marston.
Meet Judy
Judy Marston is a Senior Account Director and our resident charity and health sector specialist. With 14 years at IDS Media under her belt, she brings not only a wealth of experience, but an infectious enthusiasm that touches everything she does.
“I’m a very happy-go-lucky person,” she says. “I’m a health fanatic, a people person – I’m very sociable, a social butterfly. I even DJ at the odd party!”
From charities and pharmaceutical companies to the NHS and government bodies, Judy works closely with clients who are making a real difference in people’s lives. Her approach is built on something simple, but powerful: trust.
“It’s about much more than winning a sale. If people trust me, they’ll come back – and that’s a win.”
A Career Rooted in Experience – and Empathy
Before joining IDS, Judy worked in experiential marketing with Severn Publishing, managing activations and sampling campaigns for major brands at Sainsbury’s. When her director moved over to IDS, they knew who to call – and the rest is history.
That doesn’t mean it was easy. “It took about six months to find my stride,” Judy recalls. “The sales cycle was completely different, and learning to work from home full time was a challenge. But I focused on building trust and creating my own client base – and now, I get to work with some truly amazing people.”
It’s that blend of professional tenacity and human connection that defines Judy’s approach. She sees her role not just as a sales position, but as an ongoing journey of learning – about her clients’ needs, their audiences, and how best to help them make an impact.
A Typical Day with Judy
Judy’s days are a carefully planned balance of client service and business development. “I usually start by reaching out to existing clients, making sure everything is running smoothly, then I update the CRM and spend afternoons focused on new business.”
She puts great care into understanding every brand she works with – their objectives, challenges, and ambitions – and she’s always looking for new ways to add value.
Pride in Partnership
For Judy, pride comes from client relationships that stand the test of time.
“When clients rebook, I know I’ve done a good job. That makes me proud.”
She also cites the trust and support she receives within the IDS team as a huge part of her journey – especially during difficult times. After a sudden loss last year, Judy took time away from work. The support she received from the company was “invaluable” and a key reason she says IDS Media has been the right fit for her, 100%.
“We’ve really shaped IDS into a company that’s growing and a wonderful place to work. I work with a team who are passionate like I am – and that’s so motivating.”
Campaigns That Matter
Judy is particularly proud to support campaigns that make a difference in the real world. “I love working with charities because I really believe in their messages – they stay with you.”
One campaign that stands out is Macmillan Cancer Support. “They do amazing work. It’s personal for me too – Macmillan helped care for my aunty at the end of her life. It makes me proud that they choose to work with IDS.”
Life Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Judy is a whirlwind of energy. She runs 5km most days, practices Pilates, and loves cooking healthy food – including her own granola and protein balls. “Health is wealth,” she says.
She’s also a lover of history and culture – equally excited about discovering a new café as she is about exploring the exhibits at the British Museum. She’s even off to Malta soon for a historical adventure.
“I love the balance between old and new – feeding the soul, the mind and the body.”
