Objective

The Menopause Charity wanted to raise awareness of menopause symptoms and treatment options among women who may not recognise the signs or know where to turn for support. Their goal was to reach women directly in environments where health is already top of mind, ensuring access to trusted information at a crucial moment.

Strategy

IDS Media UK partnered with The Menopause Charity to distribute informative, easy-to-read leaflets across its national GP network. Running from October to December 2024, the campaign placed 60,000 leaflets in over 2,100 NHS GP waiting rooms across the UK. These carefully selected locations allowed the charity to engage with women at the point of care, helping them identify symptoms, track their experiences, and speak confidently with a healthcare professional.

Results

The campaign successfully increased awareness of menopause and perimenopause. The Menopause Charity reported receiving numerous compliments from both healthcare professionals and patients, with many requesting additional copies to share with others. The charity described the initiative as “an invaluable way to connect with the community and provide meaningful support,” validating the power of well-placed, accessible information in trusted environments.
